The following is a checklist to ensure quality results and minimum processing time when material is submitted. Label every folder and image. All submissions must meet the following conditions:
- Ads can only be supplied in the following formats in order of preference:
- TIFF–A composed file at 300 dpi.
- PDF–Saved as a Press Ready file at 300 dpi with all fonts embedded.
- A Full Page 4-Color ad should not exceed 10MB.
- A TIFF is always perfect. PDF files are not.
- Ads sent in any other format will be assessed a $25 service charge for conversion to a TIFF or PDF.
- Grayscale or half tone images, such as photographic art, must be saved in TIFF format using LZW compression. Color images must also be saved in CMYK mode. Do not send color images in RGB or as a JPEG (.jpg). They will never reproduce correctly when printed.
- 2-Color ads must have spot color channels selected. Also, send a copy of the ad saved in CMYK.
- For Web Source ads, the logo must be a 2", CMYK, 300 dpi file. We will add the telephone and website address for you. Do not compose it with the logo.
- Press release (PR) images can only be a composed TIFF file, approx. 3", saved at 300 dpi.
- Printouts must be supplied with every black and white ad, Web Source listing, or PR image.
- Color corrected proofs are required for all 2-Color and 4-Color ads and color PR.
Failure to provide us with this proof eliminates our ability to ensure color accuracy for your material.
- Ad material may be emailed to bmartin@meyerspublishing.com. PR may be e-mailed to harriet@meyerspublishing.com. Include issue name and date in the subject field. Proofs for e-mailed ads and PR must be mailed to us. Fax and PDF proofs cannot be used to guarantee your ad’s quality.
- Large ads or images can be sent via FTP to us by logging onto www.meyerspublishing.com. Click on the magazine your material will be running in, then on the Material Specifications link. After reading our requirements, click
on the "submit a file" link at the bottom of the page. Always use your company name for every file you send to us.
Please remember to include a telephone number and contact person on all submitted material. If the supplied material needs any changes or modifications, a production charge based on computer time will be assessed. Improperly prepared files increase the chance of an error being made on your ad–an error we cannot be responsible for.
